On Monday, October 19, Ohio State's eSignature service (DocuSign) will now be protected by a multifactor authentication service, BuckeyePass (Duo). Ohio State is expanding its use of multi-factor authentication to increase the level of security that prevents unauthorized individuals from accessing university information.
eSignature is a university service that uses DocuSign, a digital application allowing users to securely sign, initial and enter other information on an electronic document rather than a physical copy. BuckeyePass is a multifactor authentication service provided to Ohio State faculty, staff, students and student employees. It helps protect your account even if your password is stolen.
On Friday, February 15, eSignature training within BuckeyeLearn will be replaced with an updated eSignature training course.
The updated course will include separate overview, sender and author modules. The overview course will provide information regarding permitted use and policies while the sender and author courses will include instructions on how to use each. If you are currently "in progress" for the Sender or Author course, y ou either need to complete the current training by this date or you will need to restart when the new version is released. See the full article for more details.
As of Monday, May 14, DocuSign, the Ohio State eSignature engine, will be updated with design changes that improve visual accessibility while also increasing readability of links. Changes also include tightened branding through use of approved logos and colors. See the full article for a screen shot of the new look.
As a reminder, Ohio State DocuSign signature requests will come via email and will include the university’s logo and official colors. In addition to hovering over any email links and verifying they are Ohio State links prior to clicking, remember that legitimate DocuSign emails will only come from the dse@docusign.net email address.
