Microsoft 365 Authentication Changes

At 9 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, OTDI will be removing certain authentication options to log in to Microsoft 365. This will not affect any BuckeyePass registered options. Users who have registered via Microsoft 365 to authenticate with Text, Phone, Microsoft Authenticator, etc may experience a brief outage if they attempt to log in during the maintenance as we remove these as options to authenticate. Moving forward, this will not be an option and users should only ever be prompted for standard University Authentication Method options, such as BuckeyePass.

This change is one of many that Ohio State has implemented to increase security to keep our faculty, staff and students safe along with their information. To ensure you have other authentication options registered such as Duo mobile, FaceID, Touch ID, or passcodes via text, visit buckeyepass.osu.edu/. For more information on using Microsoft 365, visit admin.resources.osu.edu/microsoft-365.

If you need help or have questions regarding this maintenance, contact the IT Service Desk online or via phone at 614-688-4357 (HELP) and reference change number CHG0097245.
