UniPrint, Ohio State’s Print Center of Expertise

UniPrint now serves as the gateway for all print services at Ohio State.

What does this mean?

It means that while UniPrint will not be printing everything, they will help steward the printing of all projects for the enterprise. They will manage a yet-to-be finalized set of contracted print and print finishing suppliers to support overflow and the print services UniPrint does not provide in-house.

Benefits

UniPrint will negotiate pricing and contracts on your behalf, while printing everything they can at competitive market rates that will continue to be evaluated annually.

UniPrint will also assign specific customer service representatives (CSRs) to each unit to offer consultation on project scope and help manage the end-to-end process so you won’t have to. To learn more, visit the UniPrint website.

What are the next steps?

Our goal is to have all print services consolidated through the Print Center of Expertise (COE) by the end of FY21. 

This launch is a soft launch as the print RFP process is not yet complete. University Marketing and UniPrint the process of working through additional details across a small number of units and colleges. UniPrint will be collaborating with units to develop the best solutions to fit their specific needs.

A Service Supplier Management Team has been meeting with various colleges and units over the past few months to discuss our new print COE, and will continue to do so in the coming months until everyone is comfortable with the new workflow processes and solutions.

What is the new workflow process?

To gain an understanding of the process for working with the Uniprint COE, please review the UniPrint workflow infographic. Anyone having a print need should contact UniPrint via their website, phone or email where you will describe and discuss scope, or simply place an order. From there, your assigned CSR will assist you and guide you through the entire print process, regardless of whether UniPrint is printing in-house or utilizing a contracted supplier.
