Become Involved with the Financial Training Refresh

Thank you to those who responded to the initial Purchasing Training Needs Assessment administered by Financial Training & Documentation. Approximately 700 people provided input regarding the current state of financial training at Ohio State. We received a lot of great information and are prioritizing deliverables based on that feedback. Among the comments received:

  • Online learning options for financial training needs to include more critical analysis, scenarios and examples.
  • A fiscal onboarding process is needed for individuals new to the university or new to a fiscal role.
  • An overview of the procurement process that could be accessed by new and transferring employees is needed.

Presently, we are forming project teams to work on these and other improvements. To support transparency we want to involve our learners during design.

Historically, we've solicited assistance from many of you as instructors. Thank you to those of you who responded. For those of you who are not interested in leading an instructor-led class, we can still use your assistance. We need volunteers to serve as subject matter experts, curriculum reviewers, design session participants and new topic pilot groups. Your assistance will ensure our changes meet the needs of the entire fiscal community.
