Ohio State app users now enjoy a mobile experience that more closely mirrors native apps from Apple or Google. User feedback fueled this major redesign, resulting in record-breaking use at the beginning of autumn semester.
Wireless users can connect in more locations than ever, with 12,357 access points boosting Wi-Fi across campus. The network handles about 13 million authentications a day, almost double the average of a year ago.
About 20% of university faculty and employees – nearly 4,500 users – have gained access to Skype for Business, a new phone service that includes conferencing, desktop sharing and access to voice messages via email.

The transition to CarmenCanvas is complete, and ODEE created a new landing page that highlights a range of resources to help faculty improve their teaching with newly adopted learning tools.
By the end of FY17, more than a dozen units were able to focus their technology resources on their unique needs by taking advantage of the Managed IT Services offered by OCIO and ODEE. Within these units, we assist 1,918 employees and manage 3,308 desktop computers and expect this number to continue to grow.
